Civil Engineering

Roadtech delivers the civil engineering that sits behind traffic infrastructure, undertaking all works such as trenching, duct laying, chamber construction, cable installation, footway and carriageway reinstatement, kerb works, and foundations for signal poles, columns, and cabinets.

Our teams work across live highway environments to tight programmes, with full NRSWA compliance and reinstatement to specification. Whether it's a single junction upgrade or a multi-site framework programme, we provide the groundwork that keeps projects moving.

Detection

We are a specialist provider of inductive loop detection services, from slot cutting and cable laying through to testing, commissioning, and fault repair. All works are carried out to the latest Highways Agency specification MCH1540, and our operatives are registered under NHSS Sector Scheme 8.

We install and maintain MIDAS, count loops, NTis, magnetometers, and associated detection systems. Our teams are capable of testing and jointing on site, reducing return visits and getting sites back online at the earliest op

Traffic Signals

Supporting both Tier 1 contractors and direct local authority clients, Roadtech can deliver turnkey solutions of all associated civil engineering and installation works that support traffic signal infrastructure, including foundations, ducting, cabling, pole erection, and equipment mounting.

From new junction installations and signal upgrades to pedestrian crossings and signal refurbishments, our crews work within live traffic environments to deliver safe, compliant installations on programme.

EV Charging

We provide the civil and electrical installation works for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, including foundations, ducting, cable installation, and column or unit mounting.

Registered under HERS for EV charging point and other highway electrical installations, our teams bring the same precision and compliance standards from our traffic infrastructure work to the growing EV sector.

We have dedicated partners who we work closely with, for any required ICP or DNO installations.

Signs & Lighting

We install and maintain non-illuminated traffic signs, variable message signs (VMS) (including MS4 foundations), street lighting columns, vehicle-activated speed signs, and over-height vehicle warning signs.

Our HERS registration covers lighting column and post installation, unlit traffic signs, and associated highway electrical works. All installations are carried out by our in-house teams to current specifications.

Traffic Management

We provide temporary traffic management for our own works and as a standalone service.

Our team includes a fully trained TSCO and we produce traffic management designs in AutoCAD format.

From single-lane closures to multi-phase signal shutdowns, we plan and implement compliant TM arrangements that keep sites safe and traffic moving.

Access Hire

We provide powered access and specialist plant hire to support highway electrical and traffic infrastructure works.

Our equipment is maintained to FORS standards and operated by trained, accredited personnel. Available as part of a full project delivery or as a standalone hire service.

Vacuum Excavation

We offer vacuum excavation services for safe, non-destructive investigation and excavation around buried utilities and services.

Suction excavation reduces the risk of cable strikes and service damage in congested highway environments, supporting safer and more efficient project delivery, particularly where buried services information is unreliable or incomplete.

ICP (Independent Connection Provider)

We are developing our capability roadmap as an Independent Connection Provider, enabling us to deliver new electrical connections for highway infrastructure projects.

This will extend our service offering to clients who need a single contractor to manage the full scope, from civils and installation through to energisation, reducing interfaces and programme risk.

S278 Works & Sewer Connections

We carry out highway improvement works under Section 278 Agreements, including construction, coordination, and all necessary liaison with the local highway authority.

We also deliver connections to the existing public sewer network, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and approvals throughout.
